This whakataukī gives reference to the courageous nature of Tutawake one of our courageous ancestors, our connection to Te Whiti, being a place of growth, preservation, and providing opportunities for generations to come.

We recognise that we have a duty to care for the Land and how our relationship with the whenua can impact our hapū. Our hapū is able to benefit from these relationships which ensures that we protect and take care of our unique characteristics that makes us Ngāti Kaiparuparu. Knowing who we are informs us of what our needs are as a hapū moving forward into the future and how we can contribute to the generations who succeed our post. We are committed to connecting our people back to Te Whiti, the whenua, the awa, sustainable ways of living, improving health and living conditions of our people and providing opportunities for employment. We are using the learning from our tīpuna to look to our past to inform our future. We’ll not forget their contribution to who we are today.
